Description

Indulge in the classic combination of pecans, gooey caramel, and rich chocolate with this easy homemade recipe for Chocolate Turtles with Pecans. Perfect for gifting, snacking, or dessert-making, these treats are sweet, salty, and irresistibly delicious.

Ingredients

2 cups pecan halves, toasted

1 cup caramel squares, unwrapped

2 tablespoons heavy cream

1½ cups chocolate chips (milk, dark, or white chocolate)

½ teaspoon vegetable oil (optional for chocolate coating)

Sea salt (optional for topping)

Instructions

Prepare the Pecans: Toast pecan halves in the oven at 350°F for 8–10 minutes until fragrant. Let them cool.

Melt the Caramel: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine caramel squares and heavy cream. Heat in 20-second intervals, stirring until smooth.

Assemble the Clusters: Arrange pecan halves in small piles (3–4 per cluster) on parchment paper. Spoon melted caramel over each cluster. Let it set for 5 minutes.

Melt the Chocolate: Melt chocolate chips with vegetable oil (optional) in a microwave-safe bowl in 10-second intervals until smooth.

Coat the Clusters: Drizzle or dip each caramel pecan cluster into the melted chocolate. Sprinkle with sea salt if desired.

Set and Serve: Allow clusters to set at room temperature or refrigerate for 10 minutes. Store in an airtight container.

Notes

Use dark chocolate for a lower-sugar option or white chocolate for a unique twist.

Store at room temperature for up to a week or freeze for up to 3 months.

Toasting pecans enhances flavor but is optional.
